Jonathan Prince’s sculptures explore the expansive potential in stainless steel and stone with emphasis on elegancesteel.
Prince’s formal vocabulary draws upon his knowledge of the human body, nature, and science.
Prince’s geometric abstractions and sculptures surface qualities demonstrate his artistic inheritance from Constantin Brancusi, Jean Arp, and other masters of twentieth century modernist sculpture.
Prince works with materials like stainless steel, Bronze, corten steel and aluminum to create sculptural works that twist and tear at basic physical properties.
"I have always had an affinity for three dimensional work.My hope is that my work will provoke the viewer to have questions about what they are seeing and perhaps why this object thing or image may be of interest to them." said Jonathan Prince.
